Tea Tree Oil - A Natural Essential Oil

Health Benefits Of Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil, or melaleuca oil, is a pale yellow color to nearly colorless and clear essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor. Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tea tree. The tea tree was named by eighteenth century sailors, who made tea that smelled like nutmeg from the leaves of the tree growing on the swampy southeast Australian coast. Do not confuse the tea tree with the unrelated common tea plant that is used to make black and green teas. The chemicals in tea tree oil may kill bacteria and fungus, and reduce allergic skin reactions.

Tea tree oil is widely accepted and used by most natural healthcare practitioners and aromatherapists for use in both human and some animal treatments.  The essential oil of Tea Tree is not extracted from the plant of common tea. Neither it is synonymous to Tea Oil, which is extracted from the seed of Tea plant. Instead, it is extracted through steam distillation of twigs and leaves of Tea Tree, whose botanical name is Melaleuca Alternifolia.
Tea tree oil

The Tea Tree oil can be used as a cure for almost all sorts of tropical infections and diseases. You name it and it has the cure for that disease. It is invariably found in almost all the households of Australia, particularly those having small children. The magical healing and disinfectant properties make it a wonder-drug. It also boosts up immunity.

Health Benefits of Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea Tree Oil Benefits

Anti Bacterial: It is said that wherever Mother Nature gave the diseases, she gave the cures there itself. The activity of microbes, bacteria, virus and fungi are at their peaks in the Tropics and hence most of the medicinal plants are found there too. Tea Tree is one such plant. It can cure some of the ugliest bacterial infections of the Tropics. Wounds, which are most prone to bacterial infections in this region, can be effectively cured and protected using this oil. Although this oil is seldom taken orally, but if so, in mild concentrations, can cure internal bacterial infections too, such as those in colon, stomach, intestines, excretory system and urinary system. It can also be used in treatment of Tuberculosis.

Anti Microbial: Microbes prefer to keep safe distance from this oil, since it is an effective anti microbial. It can kill and keep away certain microbes (protozoa) which are responsible for causing Tropical fevers, malaria etc.

• Anti Septic: Open wounds are most susceptible to infection by bacteria and fungi and may result in septic or tetanus. Thus they must be protected well in advance. For this, Tea Tree Oil can be a wise choice as it is an excellent anti septic. It can be applied directly on the wounds, boils, sores, cuts and certain eruptions, as well as insect bites and stings, to protect them from infections. It is as good as any anti biotic, but without its adverse side effects.

• Anti Viral: Viral infections are very hazardous and re-appearing, since virus can survive under most intolerable conditions. They can bear unimaginable heat, cold and even poison, as they develop a protective shell called “Cyst” around them. Some viruses are intelligent enough to develop a new cyst each time they are activated, like the Common Cold Virus, to duck our immune system. They never die a natural death and can live dormant (neither live, nor dead) for even hundreds of thousands of years. They can be killed only if their cyst is ruptured using some compound or they are subjected to extreme heat which is beyond their tolerance. The Tea Tree Oil helps rupture this cyst in some viruses and can give protection against them. It also helps cure viral infections like common cold, influenza, mumps, measles, pox etc.

• Balsamic: The Essential Oil of Tea Tree has balsamic properties, that is, it boosts health. It promotes absorption of nutrients from food and gives protection from diseases too, thus proving beneficial for total health.

• Cicatrisant: The Cicatrisant property of this essential oil makes it heal wounds quicker and protect them from infections, as well as help neutralization of the scar marks and after spots left by eruptions, boils, pox, acne etc.

• Expectorant: Those who are suffering from cough and cold, congestion, bronchitis and other troubles associated with cold, are sure to get relief using this Tea Tree Essential Oil. It gives relief from cough, cold, bronchitis and congestion.

Fungicide: The Tea Tree Essential Oil is as effective against fungal infections as it is against any bacterial or microbial infections. It inhibits fungal growth and cures diseases like dermatitis, athlete’s foot etc.

• Insecticide: It is obvious that an essential oil that is so deadly for those adamant and hardy bacteria and viruses, will be effective against insects too. Tea Tree Oil is an efficient insect deterrent and insect killer. It does not let parasites and other insects like mosquitoes, fleas, lice, flies etc. come near a person who has rubbed some of this oil on his body. It kills internal insects and worms too, such as intestinal worms like round worm and tape worm and others like hook worms.

Stimulant: This essential oil has stimulating effects on hormones secretions, circulations etc. but more prominently on immune system. It boosts up immunity and acts as a shield against infections.

Sudorific: Besides infections, another cause of diseases is accumulation of toxins in the body. These toxins are either generated by the body itself, as a by-product of various reactions, or get inside the body somehow. Our body too, has certain mechanisms to throw away these toxins. One of them is perspiration or sweating. It has many advantages. It removes toxins, moistens the skin, open pores on skin and keeps the body cool. Tea Tree Essential Oil, being a Sudorific, increases sweating and promotes removal of toxins like uric acid. It also helps remove excess water and salts from the body.
Tea Tree Oil Products

Blending:

Uplift and Refresh Your Senses with Bergamot

Uplift and Refresh Your Senses with Bergamot

Bergamot is a citrus fruit whose rind is used for extracting the Bergamot Oil. The scientific name of Bergamot is Citrus Aurantium var. or Citrus Bergamia. It is a tropical plant but thrives well in Europe too. The chemical composition of Bergamot Oil includes Alpha Pinene, Alpha Bergaptnen, Alpha Terpineol, Limonene, Linalool, Linalyl Acetate, Nerol, Neryl Acetate, Beta Bisabolene, Geraniol, Geraniol Acetate and Myrcene.

Bergamot is rarely consumed as a fruit or fruit juice. It is primarily cultivated for its essential oil, which is obtained through cold compression of the fruit’s rind. Apart from its medicinal and therapeutic applications, the oil is widely used in perfumes, cosmetics as a flavoring agent for Earl Grey Tea.

Bergamot

Bergamot Oil has a very sweet smell and a number of medicinal and industrial uses due to its properties:
• Uses in Aromatherapy: Bergamot essential oil, with its clean and refreshing citrus fragrance, is an effective antidote against depression, anxiety, urinary tract infections and nervous indigestion. The oil has a balancing and toning effect on the nervous system which makes it effective against psychological disturbances as well as painful spasms. Bergamot is also used in the treatment of all kinds of infections owing to its strong antiseptic properties.

• Anti depressant & Stimulant: The components of Bergamot Oil, like Alpha Pinene and Limonene, are anti depressant and stimulant in nature. They give a feeling of freshness, joy and energy in cases of sadness and depression by improving circulation. They also stimulate hormone secretion and thus help maintaining proper rates of metabolism. This stimulating effect increases secretion of digestive juices, bile and insulin, thereby aiding digestion, proper absorption of nutrients, assimilation and decomposition of sugar and the resultant lowering of blood sugar level.

• Relaxant & Sedative: The Flavonoids present in Bergamot oil are very good relaxants too. They soothe nerves and reduce nervous tension, anxiety, stress etc. and hence help cure ailments associated with stress such as sleeplessness, high blood pressure etc.

• Anti Biotic & Disinfectant: Certain components of the essential oil of Bergamot are anti biotic and disinfectant in nature. They inhibit growth of germs, virus and fungi. They also effectively prohibit infections, such as those of skin. If regularly used with bathing water or in soaps (this is already used extensively in skin-care soaps), the skin and hair remains protected from infections and become shiny. It also cures infections of colon, intestines, urinary tract and kidneys.

• Anti Septic & Vulnerary: The same disinfectant and anti biotic properties of Bergamot Oil make it a good anti septic and vulnerary agent. It not only helps fast healing up of wounds, cracks on skin and heels, ulcers, eczema, itches etc. but also protects wounds from being septic and developing tetanus.

• Febrifuge: Febrifuge is a substance or an agent that reduces fever and lowers body temperature. Bergamot is a good febrifuge due to many reasons. First, being an anti biotic, it fights infections from virus, bacteria and protozoa which cause fever, such as influenza (virus), malaria (protozoa) and typhoid (typhus bacteria), and thus helps curing fever. Second, it stimulates the metabolic system and secretions, thereby giving a feeling of warmth and resulting in more secretion (perspiration or sweat) from the Eccrine glands (sweat glands) and sebaceous (sebum) glands, thus reducing body temperature.

Bergamot Essential Oil

• Analgesic: It reduces the feeling of pain in the body. Actually it stimulates secretion of certain hormones which lessen sensitivity of nerves to pain. Thus it is very helpful in case of headache, sprains etc. all those symptoms which require heavy dosage of analgesic pills.

• Digestive: As discussed above, it activates and increases secretions of the digestive acids, enzymes and bile and facilitates digestion. It also synchronizes or regulates the peristaltic motion of the intestines and this way too, help in digestion.

• Cicatrisant: This property of Bergamot oil is the reason behind its extensive use in cosmetics, skin-care products such as beauty soaps, creams, lotions etc. Cicatrisant is a property or an agent which helps the scar and other marks on the skin to disappear. It also makes the distribution of pigments and melanin even and uniform, resulting in the fading away of marks.

• Deodorant: No doubt, this property of bergamot oil is going to attract the teenagers who are after every new deodorant in the market and desperately want something really refreshing and natural. This is an excellent deodorant. Its own refreshing aroma (fragrance) and disinfectant properties (which inhibit growth of germs causing body-odor) make it a really effective and attractive package as a deodorant.

• Anti Spasmodic: It relaxes nerves and muscles and thus gives quick relief in cramps, convulsions, painful muscle contractions etc.

• Vermifuge: It kills worms. Thus it is going to be a very fragrant choice for children who have worms. It can also be applied on the affected tooth or used as a mouthwash to kill oral germs and protect teeth from cavities.

• Other Benefits: It is also Tonic, that is, it tones up respiratory, circulatory, digestive, excretory, nervous system as well as skin and muscles. It is also anti congestive and is used in vaporizers to relieve congestion and respiratory problems, particularly during cough and cold.

Bergamot Products

Few Words of Caution: Bergamot Oil must be protected from sunlight. Bergaptene, one of its components, becomes poisonous if exposed to sunlight. That is why it should be stored in dark bottles in dark places. Even exposure to sunlight should be avoided after it is applied or rubbed on skin.

Blending: Bergamot Oil blends with Clary Sage, Frankincense, Mandarin, Jasmine, Black Pepper, Cypress, Geranium, Nutmeg, Sandalwood, Orange, Rosemary, Vetiver and Ylang-Ylang Oil.

Whenever you are feeling down and out, the fresh, citrus burst of Bergamot will help relieve stress and promote a positive outlook towards life.  By re channeling negative emotions, Bergamot helps restore optimism, motivation and hope.

Age Related Eye Dieases

Age Related Eye Dieases

Aged Related Macular Degeneration
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is an eye condition that affects a tiny part of the retina at the back of your eye, which is called the macula. The macula is made up of millions of light-sensing cells that provide sharp, detailed central vision. The macula is a small area in the retina  the light-sensitive tissue lining the back of the eye. The macula is the part of the retina that is responsible for your central vision, allowing you to see fine details clearly. The retina quickly turns light into electrical signals and then sends these electrical signals to the brain through the optic nerve. Next, the brain translates the electrical signals into images we see. If the macula is damaged, fine points in these images are not clear.
Age Related Eye Dieases

Types of Macular Degeneration
Dry, or atrophic, Macular Degeneration: Dry AMD is the most common form of AMD in its early or intermediate stages. It occurs in about 90 percent of the people with the condition. Dry AMD happens when the light-sensitive cells in the macula slowly break down, gradually blurring central vision in the affected eye. As dry AMD progresses, you may see a blurred spot in the center of your vision. Eye care professional may call this "geographic atrophy." Over time, central vision in the affected eye can be slowly lost as less of the macula works.

Wet, or exudative, Macular Degeneration: Wet AMD affects about 10 percent of all people with AMD. This type, however, is more severe than the early and intermediate stages of the dry form. Wet AMD happens when abnormal blood vessels behind the retina start to grow under the macula. These new blood vessels can be fragile and leak blood and fluid. The blood and fluid cause the macula to swell and damage occurs rapidly. The damage may also cause scarring of the retina.
Aged Related Macular Degeneration

Adding certain nutrients to your diet every day - either through foods or supplements - can help save your vision. Researchers have linked eye-friendly nutrients such as lutein/zeaxanthin, vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc to reducing the risk of certain eye diseases, including macular degeneration.

1. Lutein and Zeaxanthin - 10 mg Lutein, 2 mg Zeaxanthin per day to slow AMD progression
2. Vitamin C - Need 500 mg per day to slow AMD progression
3. Vitamin E - Need 400 mg per day to slow AMD progression
4. Zinc - Need 40 to 80 mg daily to slow AMD progression

Blepharitis
Blepharitis is an inflammation of the eyelids causing red, irritated, itchy eyelids and the formation of dandruff-like scales on eyelashes. It is a common eye disorder caused by either bacterial or a skin condition such as dandruff of the scalp or acne rosacea. It affects people of all ages. Although uncomfortable, blepharitis is not contagious and generally does not cause any permanent damage to eyesight.
Blepharitis
Blepharitis has two basic forms:
• Anterior blepharitis occurs at the outside front edge of the eyelid where the eyelashes are attached.
• Posterior blepharitis affects the inner edge of the eyelid that comes in contact with the eyeball.

It's common to have a mixture of both anterior and posterior forms of blepharitis at the same time, but in different degrees of severity.

In some cases of posterior blepharitis, eye doctors recommend nutritional supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids, such as flaxseed oil, to aid healthy function of meibomian glands that provide essential lubrication for eye and eyelid comfort.

Cataracts
A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision.  It is the most common cause of blindness and is conventionally treated with surgery. Visual loss occurs because opacification of the lens obstructs light from passing and being focused on to the retina at the back of the eye. Most cataracts are related to aging. Cataracts are very common in older people. By age 80, more than half of all Americans either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery.
Cataracts

A cataract can occur in either or both eyes. It cannot spread from one eye to the other.
1. Secondary cataract. Cataracts can form after surgery for other eye problems, such as glaucoma. Cataracts also can develop in people who have other health problems, such as diabetes. Cataracts are sometimes linked to steroid use.

2. Traumatic cataract. Cataracts can develop after an eye injury, sometimes years later.

3. Congenital cataract. Some babies are born with cataracts or develop them in childhood, often in both eyes. These cataracts may be so small that they do not affect vision. If they do, the lenses may need to be removed.

4. Radiation cataract. Cataracts can develop after exposure to some types of radiation.

Though there is significant controversy about whether cataracts can be prevented, a number of studies suggest certain nutrients and nutritional supplements may reduce your risk of cataracts. One large, 10-year study of female health professionals found that higher dietary intakes of vitamin E and the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin from food and supplements were associated with significantly decreased risks of cataract.

Good food sources of vitamin E include sunflower seeds, almonds and spinach. Good sources of lutein and zeaxanthin include spinach, kale and other green, leafy vegetables. Other studies have shown antioxidant vitamins such as vitamin C and foods containing omega-3 fatty acids may reduce cataract risk.

Cornea and Corneal Disease
The cornea is the clear, protective outer layer of the eye. Along with the sclera (white of the eye), it serves as a barrier against dirt, germs, and other particles that can harm the eye's delicate components. The cornea is also capable of filtering out some amounts of the sun's ultraviolet light.
Cornea and Corneal Disease

The cornea also plays a key role in vision. As light enters the eye, it is refracted, or bent, by the outside shape of the cornea. The curvature of this outer layer helps determine how well your eye can focus on objects close-up and far away.

There are three main layers of the cornea:
1. Epithelium: The most superficial layer of the cornea, the epithelium stops outside matter from entering the eye. This layer of the cornea also absorbs oxygen and nutrients from tears.

2. Stroma: The stroma is the largest layer of the cornea and is found behind the epithelium. It is made up mostly of water and proteins that give it an elastic but solid form.

3. Endothelium: The endothelium is a single layer of cells located between the stroma and the aqueous humor - the clear fluid found in the front and rear chambers of the eye. The endothelium works as a pump, expelling excess water as it is absorbed into the stroma. Without this specialized function, the stroma could become water logged, hazy and opaque in appearance, also reducing vision.

Diabetic retinopathy, the most common diabetic eye disease, occurs when blood vessels in the retina change. Sometimes these vessels swell and leak fluid or even close off completely. In other cases, abnormal new blood vessels grow on the surface of the retina.

Dry Eye
Dry eye is a condition in which there are insufficient tears to lubricate and nourish the eye. Tears are necessary for maintaining the health of the front surface of the eye and for providing clear vision. People with dry eyes either do not produce enough tears or have a poor quality of tears. Dry eye is a common and often chronic problem, particularly in older adults.

Dry Eye
Dry eyes can result from an improper balance of tear production and drainage.
1. Inadequate amount of tears – Tears are produced by several glands in and around the eyelids. Tear production tends to diminish with age, with various medical conditions, or as a side effect of certain medicines. Environmental conditions such as wind and dry climates can also affect tear volume by increasing tear evaporation. When the normal amount of tear production decreases or tears evaporate too quickly from the eyes, symptoms of dry eye can develop.

2. Layers of tears Poor quality of tears – Tears are made up of three layers: oil, water, and mucus. Each component serves a function in protecting and nourishing the front surface of the eye. A smooth oil layer helps to prevent evaporation of the water layer, while the mucin layer functions in spreading the tears evenly over the surface of the eye. If the tears evaporate too quickly or do not spread evenly over the cornea due to deficiencies with any of the three tear layers, dry eye symptoms can develop.

Eye Floaters
Eye floaters are those tiny spots, specks, flecks and "cobwebs" that drift aimlessly around in your field of vision. While annoying, ordinary eye floaters and spots are very common and usually aren't cause for alarm. Floaters and spots typically appear when tiny pieces of the eye's gel-like vitreous break loose within the inner back portion of the eye.

Eye Floaters Supplement aims to help you by providing a unique and powerful mixture of vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants. The Complete supplement includes larger nutrient doses and an added multivitamin mix to ensure your eyes get what they need to work their best. Eat more animal liver, eggs, beans, meat, fresh vegetables, fruit, seafood and fish, less spicy food and drink less coffee in your daily life you can get these nutrient composition

Key Ingredients:
250 mg L-Methionine: This antioxidant promotes the breakdown of fats, and helps with potentially harmful free radicals. Our Complete supplement includes a larger dose of this important antioxidant.

20100 mcg Lutein: An important nutrient that's rare in food, except in the case of green leafy vegetables. An even larger dose such as this can promote eye health for years to come.

5500 IU Vitamin A: An essential vitamin for night vision and general eye health.

Multivitamin Mix: Your eyes are a nutrient-hungry organ – they need more vitamins and minerals than most people get in their diets. The Complete supplement provides an added multivitamin mix to nourish your eyes through and through.

Hyperopia
Hyperopia, also known as farsightedness, is a common type of refractive error where distant objects may be seen more clearly than objects that are near. However, people experience hyperopia differently. Some people may not notice any problems with their vision, especially when they are young. For people with significant hyperopia, vision can be blurry for objects at any distance, near or far.
Hyperopia

Hyperopia Symptoms and Signs
Farsighted people sometimes have headaches or eye strain and may squint or feel fatigued when performing work at close range. If you get these symptoms while wearing your eyeglasses or contact lenses, you may need an eye exam and a new prescription.
Macular Hole
A macular hole is a small break in the macula, located in the center of the eye's light-sensitive tissue called the retina. The macula provides the sharp, central vision we need for reading, driving, and seeing fine detail.  A macular hole can cause blurred and distorted central vision. Macular holes are related to aging and usually occur in people over age 60. This can be a significant problem because a healthy macula is needed to see the fine detail required for reading and driving. A macular hole is not related to macular degeneration; these are two different problems.

Macular Hole

Symptoms
Visual problems from a macular hole usually occur gradually. The first symptoms are often blurry and distorted central vision. Straight lines might look wavy, distorted or have missing segments. There may be a gray area or blind spot in the central vision. Sometimes a patient does not notice a problem for some time because they do not cover their good eye and realize that they have a problem looking with the eye containing the macular hole. Reading often becomes difficult.

Macular Pucker
A macular pucker (also called an epiretinal membrane) is a layer of scar tissue that grows on the surface of the retina, particularly the macula, which is the part of your eye responsible for detailed, central vision. Macular pucker is also known as epiretinal membrane, preretinal membrane, cellophane maculopathy, retina wrinkle, surface wrinkling retinopathy, premacular fibrosis, and internal limiting membrane disease.
 Macular Pucker

Symptoms
Vision loss from a macular pucker can vary from no loss to severe loss, although severe vision loss is uncommon. People with a macular pucker may notice that their vision is blurry or mildly distorted, and straight lines can appear wavy. They may have difficulty in seeing fine detail and reading small print. There may be a gray area in the center of your vision, or perhaps even a blind spot.

Myopia (Nearsightedness)
Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a common type of refractive error where close objects appear clearly, but distant objects appear blurry.  Nearsightedness occurs if the eyeball is too long or the cornea, the clear front cover of the eye, has too much curvature. As a result, the light entering the eye isn’t focused correctly and distant objects look blurred.
Myopia (Nearsightedness)

Myopia Symptoms and Signs
If you are nearsighted, you typically will have difficulty reading road signs and seeing distant objects clearly, but will be able to see well for close-up tasks such as reading and computer use. Other signs and symptoms of myopia include squinting, eye strain and headaches. Feeling fatigued when driving or playing sports also can be a symptom of uncorrected nearsightedness.

Myopia can be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or surgery.
Eyeglasses are the simplest and safest way to correct myopia. Your eye care professional can prescribe lenses that will correct the problem and help you to see your best.

Contact Lenses work by becoming the first refractive surface for light rays entering the eye, causing a more precise refraction or focus. In many cases, contact lenses provide clearer vision, a wider field of vision, and greater comfort. They are a safe and effective option if fitted and used properly. However, contact lenses are not right for everyone. Discuss this with your eye care professional.

Nutrition Supplements for myopia treatment: Almost all the antioxidants likely have a positive influence on eye health. Of particular importance are vitamins C, E, selenium, and the carotenoids found in fruits and vegetables. Two particular carotenoids, called lutein and zeaxanthin, play an important role in protecting eye tissue in the macula from damage by free radicals, and perhaps partially help prevent myopia or reduce myopia severity progression. Corn, eggs, green leafy vegetables, peppers, red grapes and pumpkins are some of the foods rich in lutein and zeazanthin. You can also find carotenoids and flavonoids in many herbs, including milk thistle and bilberry. Interestingly, bilberry contains anthocyanosides that could be beneficial in myopia. Fish oil supplements are helpful since the retina needs the important fatty acid DHA for optimal visual acuity.
Uveitis
Uveitis is swelling and irritation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye. The uvea provides most of the blood supply to the retina. It is a condition that occurs in the uvea, or the middle coat of the eye. Because the uvea contains the blood vessels that supply nutrients to the eye, any form of uveitis may be a serious eye disorder and may be a symptom for other serious conditions. Uveitis is a leading cause of blindness affecting individuals of all ages, genders, and races.
Uveitis

Symptoms may develop rapidly and can include:
• Blurred vision
• Dark, floating spots in the vision
• Eye pain
• Redness of the eye
• Sensitivity to light

Several different types of steroid medication may be used, depending on the type of uveitis you have. Eye drops are often used for uveitis affecting the front of the eye, whereas injections, tablets and capsules are more often used to treat uveitis affecting the middle and back of the eye.

Jakemans Sore Throat Cough Drops and Lozenges

Jakemans Sore Throat Lozenges

Sore throat and chest pain are commonly caused by acid reflux disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and bronchitis. Other conditions that can cause these symptoms are pneumonia, a streptococcal infection otherwise known as strep throat, and a lung ailment called pleurisy. Although each of these conditions may have similar symptoms, they are all different and unrelated in terms of general treatment. Asthma can often cause chest pain and discomfort, but rarely causes a sore throat unless the individual is suffering from a bad cough.

Jakemans lozenges often soothe and cool sore throats by relieving inflammation. They can also help clear stuffy sinus passages and break up chest congestion. This usually helps a person to cough less and breathe easier. The Jakemans lozenges are often an easy treatment that can be given to a person of almost any age. They are generally an inexpensive cough medicine that can be used at home, school, work, or while traveling.

Coughs are sometimes caused by an irritation in the throat. Menthol from these cough drops is typically released when people suck on them, and this ingredient can naturally alleviate swelling and soothe the affected tissue. Many times, the menthol also relieves some of the pain associated with a sore throat, as it can have a somewhat numbing effect. This usually means people using the cough drops have less throat pain than those who do not use them.

Sore throat

As people suck on Jakemans lozenges, a natural antihistamine may be released. Inhaling this vapor normally allows a congested person to help clear clogged sinus passages, thereby making breathing easier through the nose. Relieving this pressure can sometimes help make the pain of a sinus-related headache more bearable.
In some cases, this medicine may assist in breaking up congestion, which is a build-up of excess fluid, in the lungs. This fluid frequently causes wheezing and shortness of breath, which sometimes leads to excessive coughing. As the fluid is broken up, breathing normally becomes easier. This generally results in people coughing less.

Sucking on cough drops and Lozenges stimulates saliva production, which can help keep your throat moist. But many varieties are no more effective than hard candies. For an added benefit, choose Jakemans brands with a cooling or numbing ingredient, like Menthol, Cherry, Berry bag, Eucalyptus oil, Honey and Lemon.

They are also generally safe for teenagers and adults to use. They are not known to interact dangerously with any other type of medications, so people who are taking prescription drugs do not normally need to be concerned.

This cough medicine is usually very convenient to administer. People often carry a Jakemans lozenges in their pocket to use throughout the day as needed. They can generally be taken while completing everyday tasks and are not likely to disturb other people nearby.

Jakemans lozenges are commonly used to help suppress coughs. Although they are not a cure for colds, they usually help relieve the suffering associated with one. This generally means that sick people can go about their day-to-day activities more comfortably than if they had not used them.
A sore throat can have many causes including:
• Common viruses, including the viruses that cause mononucleosis (mono) and the flu. Some viruses can also produce blisters in the mouth and throat ("aphthous stomatitis").
• Infection of the tonsils or adenoids.
• Breathing through the mouth or smoking can produce throat dryness and soreness.
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) while lying down or sleeping.
• Sinus drainage (post nasal drip) from allergic or chronic sinusitis.
• Bacterial infections. The two most common bacteria to cause a sore throat are Streptococcus (which causes strep throat) and Arcanobacterium haemolyticum. Arcanobacterium causes sore throats mainly in young adults and is sometimes associated with a fine red rash.
Sore throat appearing after treatment with antibiotics, chemotherapy, or other immune-compromising medications may be due to the yeast Candida, commonly known as "thrush."
• A sore throat lasting for more than two weeks can be a sign of a serious illness, such as throat cancer or AIDS.

Why Men Lose Their Hair?
Statistics show that one in two men will experience hair loss or thinning hair by the age of 50 years old. Male hair loss, also known as Androgenic Alopecia or Male Pattern Baldness, is caused by the effect of the male hormones, called androgens, on genetically predisposed hair follicles. For those with a family trend toward hair loss, the male hormone 'testosterone' is converted into 'Dihydrotestosterone', or 'DHT'. It is the effect of DHT which inhibits hair growth by preventing the supply of nutrients to the hair follicle, which in time leads to male hair loss.

Hair Loss Reasons For Men And Women
There are many factors which influence healthy hair growth; these encompass a whole range of medical, emotional and lifestyle conditions which can prevent the body from effectively absorbing the essential nutrients it needs to support healthy hair.

1. Age
In our twenties and thirties we typically have 615 hair follicles per square centimeter. The number falls to 485 by the time we hit fifty and to 435 at eighty. Each hair also becomes thinner, therefore, reducing hair volume.

2. Stress
Believe it or not, the cliché about stress leading to hair problems is actually true. In extreme stress, the adrenal gland goes into overdrive, and the resultant increase in adrenaline sometimes leads to a consequent increase in the production of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone which, without enough estrogen to counterbalance it, can lead to hair not being as healthy as it should be. For some people being stressed can seriously affect the condition of their hair and it can turn into a vicious circle: Stress affects the hair cycle and the impact of this can cause more stress for the sufferer. Here are some simple and effective ways in which you can reduce stress in your life; exercise, positive thinking, set limits, share your feelings, stay flexible with your plans and sleep.

3. Medication
In some instances medicine may have side effects which impact on healthy hair growth; they include cholesterol lowering agents, ulcer healing agents, anti-diabetic drugs, blood pressure medication and birth control pills.

4. Poor diet
A diet rich in protein, vitamins and minerals is essential for healthy hair and hair growth. A diet low in protein is often the reason why someone will experience hair loss, as a poor diet affects new growth. The hair follicle is a nonessential tissue and, therefore, one of the last tissues to receive nutritional substances, therefore any long-term deficiencies may lead to premature hair loss.

Diet tips: Eat at least 5 ounces (approximately 150 grams) of protein a day. Foods high in protein are meat, chicken, fish, beans, eggs, cheese and tofu. Because hair is made of 80% to 95% protein, this is an important area of your diet. Iron deficiency is a major cause of hair loss especially in women or men who are vegetarian. If you are iron deficient or anaemic, then taking iron could be helpful for your hair. Other important minerals for healthy hair functioning are: zinc found in seafood and beans, silica found in potatoes, red and green peppers and bean sprouts, magnesium found in green vegetables and nuts and essential fatty acids such omega fatty acids found in fish.

5. Hormonal change
Hormonal changes associated with menopause can affect the healthy hair growth cycle. While this menopausal side effect is relatively rare, it has been known to occur in some cases. Other hormonal changes in the body notably thyroid issues and hormonal responses to changes in the autoimmune system have been known to affect hair thinning and loss in some women. Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome can experience problems with their hair due to a hormone imbalance and increased sensitivity to the male hormones we all have.

6. Post pregnancy
While a beautiful and natural process, is nonetheless a stressful process on the body. Consequently, it’s common for post-partum hair thinning or even bald patches to occur as the bodies’ hormone levels normalize. This is usually a temporary condition, however, and should reverse itself soon. If hair health is still an issue a few months after the pregnancy is over, chances are that the hair condition is attributed to something other than the pregnancy.

7. Birth control
The pill is the most common form of contraception in women; a mixture of progesterin and estrogen carries an occasional side-effect which affects healthy hair growth in those who have a hereditary medical history of hair loss.

8. Over-styling
Aerosol sprays, hair dyes, hair irons, and curlers might seem to be essential to hair beauty in the short term, but do keep in mind that excessive use of any of these items may result in damaging hair in the long run. Women who find their healthy hair is being affected may also want to consider what they’re putting into their hair and scalp on a daily basis and consider other nutritional supplements and cosmetic methods.

9. Smoking
Smoking affects healthy hair growth. Cigarette smoking has been shown to cause poor circulation, which can affect the amount of blood flow available to the hair follicles of the scalp.

This revolutionary product is definitely worth a try if you have any hair growth or loss of hair issues. Made from all-natural ingredients, the Viviscal supplements, shampoos and competitions are the next big product in the haircare and hair loss market.
